I joined Sublime as a design advisor at the pre-seed stage of their journey. I helped the founders turn their domain insights into tangible input for their product roadmap. Provided guidance on how to continuously engage and collect feedback from their users. Created product design framework and guidelines to help them prioritize the most critical features to close enterprise-level customers to help them raise their seed round.
Founded in 2019 by an offensive security expert from the Department of Defense, Sublime lets you write and run custom detection and response rules to block phishing attacks, hunt for threats, and collaborate with others to defend against new attackers.
After speaking to the co-founders (Ian Theil and Josh Kamjou), I admired their technical mastery of the email security domain and their grounded understanding of their needs from a design advisor.
Their vision to create a strong line of defense against phishing attacks by enabling the email security community to work together and collaborate resonated with me. This can allow security teams to be proactive vs. just reactive to the constant barrage of attacks.
